We are proud to share that Mrs. Valeria Orozco, Instructional Strategist at Sun Valley Elementary School, has been recognized as one of the 13 Teacher Leader Fellows for the NIET 2027 Teacher Leader Fellows Program.
This national program brings together selected teacher leaders to deepen their expertise in NIET’s systems of improvement and strengthen their ability to support teaching and learning at both the school and district levels.
What an amazing achievement! We are so excited for Mrs. Orozco as she embarks on this powerful journey of learning, leadership, and impact. We can’t wait to see all the incredible things she will accomplish through this outstanding opportunity. 👏

Supplies will be distributed while supplies last, so come early! A limited number of backpacks may also be available for students.

Attention Somerton School District parents & students. We invite all 3rd -7th grade SSD#11 students to join our summer dance academy!

This program is a great opportunity for our students to stay engaged during the summer while learning and developing their dance skills in a positive and enriching environment. Our goal is to provide students with meaningful activities that promote culture, teamwork, discipline, and creativity.

TDS would like to give a huge shout- out and heart felt thank you to all of our families who supported our teacher appreciation week with snacks, treats, gifts, and well wishes of heartfelt words. We have awesome teachers, and amazing families!

We would also like to give a special thanks to Jacquie Ramirez and Marie Gonzalez who have (for the last 4 years) worked with our community, businesses, and individual in giving special gifts to recognize our teachers. Our wonderful and caring PTL Officers & Parents for delicious luncheon meal on Wednesday!

Today, to wrap our week of appreciation, our teachers were treated to a special breakfast hosted by our office, custodians, and support staff. Yum, it was delicious! Even got a special treat of having Gladys Anaya, Somerton School Board Member stop by to help cook and serve. Very appreciated.
