Last night, we had the honor of celebrating our Somerton School District Teacher of the Year nominees at the Yuma County Teacher of the Year Banquet. 🎉

We are incredibly proud of our outstanding educators who were nominated for their dedication, passion, and commitment to student success. We are grateful for everything you do each day.

We would also like to extend our appreciation to all Somerton School District educators. Thank you for everything that you do for our students.

Congratulations again to our nominees on this recognition. What an exciting and memorable experience! 🍎📚✨

And a special thank you to the Education Foundation of Yuma County for honoring and celebrating educators across Yuma County.

Please help us in celebrating our teachers next week, May 4- May 8th by bringing small snacks/ treats for our teachers during breakfast or lunch. We ask if bringing breakfast treats to deliver by 7:30AM, if bringing for lunch please deliver by 10:00AM. TDS has 42 teachers on staff.

Friendly reminder, that any parent/ guardian wanting to pick up students early after 2:20PM on regular days or 11:40AM on Wednesday will need to wait until the dismissal bell. As students prepare for dismissal and classes have internal movement in hallways to prepare for exiting, requesting a student at this time can be challenging. We ask for your patience and support to allow students to safely exit prior to picking up.

Mientras los estudiantes se preparan para la salida y las clases tienen movimiento interno en los pasillos para prepararse para salir, solicitar a un estudiante en ese momento puede ser complicado. We are SO close to our goal: TDS missed an “A” rating by just 0.43 points. Let’s push together and finish strong! Caption idea for your short video clips: “My (child’s name) is taking the AASA test this week and is ready to do their best! Add: #WeAreSunDragons Padres de los Sun Dragons (Grados 3–6) ¡Necesitamos su ayuda para motivar a nuestros estudiantes para al examen AASA este domingo, 12 de abril!
