Our before and after school clubs are buzzing with creativity, teamwork, and success! Congratulations to the Sun Valley Robodinals, who earned 1st place, and Tierra Del Sol, who took 2nd place at the Yuma County Robotics Competition, both teams are headed to the State Competition! A big shout out as well to our 1st Place Chess winner from Somerton Middle School. Join a 21st Century club to build skills, celebrate achievements, and shine bright! Clubs vary by school.

We will be selling Christmas lights and Santa hat that will be used for our Christmas performances.
Prices are the following:
$7 ($2.50 hat and $4.50 lights 20 count) for flutes, clarinets, saxophones, and trumpets
$10 ($2.50 hat and $7.50 lights 50 count) for trombones, tuba, and drumline
Payments will be received, and lights/hats given out on this Monday and Tuesday from 4:30pm-5:30pm in the SMS cafeteria. Parents may come pay/pickup lights/hat or send money with students.

Venderemos luces navideƱas y gorros Santa para nuestras presentaciones navideƱas.
Los precios son los siguientes:
$7 ($2.50 gorro y $4.50 luces 20 unidades) para flautas, clarinetes, saxofones y trompetas
$10 ($2.50 gorro y $7.50 luces 50 unidades) para trombones, tubas y drumline
Los pagos y la entrega de luces/gorros se realizaran este Lunes y Martes de 4:30pm-5:30pm en la cafeteria de SMS. Los padres pueden venir a pagar/recoger las luces/gorro, o enviar dinero con los estudiantes.

The Somerton School District would like to congratulate our Transportation Director, Maria Villarreal, for receiving the Special Achievement Award from the Education Foundation of Yuma County Hall of Fame. This prestigious honor is awarded to a non-certified employee in Yuma County schools who stands out among colleagues and demonstrates a long-term commitment to education.
Criteria for this award include a strong and positive work ethic, exceptional dedication, and an influential presence that makes a meaningful difference within the school system.
Maria has proudly served the district for over 30 years and continues to do so with unwavering dedication, professionalism, and a big smile. We are incredibly proud of her and deeply grateful for her many years of service! We are looking forward to honoring her at the Legacy Gala on January 22, 2026.
