Calling all current and future musicians! Join us for an exciting two weeks of music, learning, and fun at Somerton Middle School! 🥁🎷🎺🐍

🤔 Has your child ever thought about learning how to play an instrument or joining band, but not quite sure?
This is their chance to try it out! Explore instruments, learn the basics, and experience what band is all about, with no commitment required for the upcoming school year.


🎉 Whether your child is brand new or already has experience, this camp is the perfect place to grow, make friends, and have fun!

Last night, Somerton School District proudly celebrated our Teacher of the Year nominees with a wonderful evening of recognition. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by our amazing Food Service team, along with beautiful performances by our district folkloric group led by Ms. Lopez.

We are incredibly proud of our teachers for their dedication, commitment to student growth, and for going above and beyond each and every day. Our students truly have the very best educators!

Congratulations to our nominees—and thank you to all of the outstanding teachers across our district for the difference you make.

A special thank you to our Governing Board for their support and attendance, our custodial staff, SMS for hosting, and our Food Service team for making this event so memorable.

During our April Coffee & Convos with the Superintendent, we discussed student enrollment, the bond, grants, MOWR, 21st Century, MEP/HISEP & Jumpstart, as well as our dance and band programs. Additionally, Ms. Castro spoke about the 8th grade promotion.

We would like to thank everyone who participated and asked such thoughtful and important questions. Big shout out to SVS for hosting this event.
