Good morning SMS students and parents. Reminder, All students need to log into their 4th hour class for Galileo math testing today at 9:10am today Wednesday. Try your best! Our fall Galileo testing is next week. October 5th is Reading, October 7th is Math and October 9th is Science. Students will report to their AA (4th period)conference class every morning at 9:10. Parents please support us with getting all students tested. This week reading teachers will be helping students log into the testing window for practice.

Good evening parents there will be no classes tomorrow Friday September 11th due district trainings. Please make sure your child does not login to any of his classes. Thank you. Good morning Cobras. A few reminders as we start the week. 1. If you need iPad/tech/ Schoology support please come to the SMS library or call 928-341-6100 from 8 AM to 4 PM 2. If your child plans on coming to sms please contact 928-341-6100 3. Breakfast and lunch are being served in our cafeteria from 8 to 2pm. Estimadas familias de las escuelas de Somerton,   Favor de comunicarse con la escuela de su hijo(a) si necesita ayuda conectando con el aprendizaje a distancia.   Debido al alto riesgo continuo en nuestra región por la contingencia de COVID-19, no podemos ofrecer instrucción híbrida en este momento. La fase híbrida es cuando un maestro imparte su lección dentro del salón de clases y al mismo tiempo transmite la lección a distancia. A eso lo llamamos Fase 2. Desafortunadamente, el riesgo de COVID-19 en nuestra comunidad es demasiado alto para permitir este tipo de servicio.   Si sus hijos necesitan ayuda para conectarse a distancia, debe de llamar a la oficina de su escuela. Tenemos una variedad de formas en las que podemos ayudar, incluida la ayuda personal para configurar el equipo, proporcionar el equipo, proporcionar conectividad, instrucción especializada para su hijo en inglés, instrucción de educación especial y supervisión de la instrucción en el entorno escolar local.   La supervisión de la instrucción en la escuela local se limita a mantener un ambiente seguro para el personal y los estudiantes. No brindarán instrucción personalizada; ayudarán al estudiante a acceder a la instrucción en línea.   Cuando las condiciones de COVID-19 sean menos riesgosas, pasaremos a la Fase 2. Dear Somerton School families, Please contact your student’s school if your student needs help accessing Distance Learning. Due to the continued High Risk in our region we are not able to offer Hybrid instruction, at this time. The hybrid phase is when a teacher broadcasts their lesson from their classroom serving students in and out of class at the same time. We call that Phase 2. Unfortunately, the risk for COVID-19 in our community is too high to allow this type of service. If you need help with your children accessing their learning you should call your school office. We have a variety of ways we can help including personal help setting up the device, providing the device, providing connectivity, specialized instruction for your child in English Language, Special Education Instruction and supervision of instruction at the local school setting. The supervision of instruction at the local school is limited to maintain a safe environment for staff and students. They will not be providing personalized instruction; they will be helping the student access the online instruction. When the COVID-19 conditions are less risky we will transition to Phase 2. At this time our Governing Board has determined to evaluate and determine what is best after the first quarter. Our plan is to remain in Distance Learning, Phase 1, for the first quarter of this school year. Every Wednesday we will post announcements on our website to keep parents and the community informed.
